Dwell magazine & dwell on design
Dwell was engaging in a strategic communications effort to raise its visibility as a lifestyle brand and community through its magazine and conference.
We recognized the need to reinforce the company as a cultural icon, building on its 13-year history as a stand-alone lifestyle brand that makes design accessible.
We dove into providing further support behind marketing & PR efforts to help their mission in managing communications and media engagement for three Dwell on Design events along with strategies to further recognize the brand in broader circles.
what we did
With our expertise in the built environment and managing media engagement at shows and events, we managed the production of Dwell on Design in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
In the same way that Dwell had made design more accessible, we aimed to make the publication more accessible. We accomplished this through a comprehensive communications program that managed transmission of news and events while deploying them in strategic venues to reinforce and build upon the Dwell community.
This included issuing the Monrovia Design Challenge and the Wacom Live Eco-Design Rendering Challenge, judged by Archinect, SciArc, UCLA and the Art Center College of Design. And also further outreach came in forwarding Dwell “Outdoor,” focused on outdoor living trends like landscape and prefab architecture.
