COMMUNICATIONS INTERN | JOB DESCRIPTION
Our Communications Intern will actively participate as a member of a small but dynamic team, gaining exposure to sustainable solutions in product design and architecture, and innovation in consumer goods, transportation and the environment while making a positive, and tangible contribution to the organization.
This is a great opportunity to learn a diverse set of communications skills quickly. This is not the place for a coffee jockey or copy room loafer. We expect candidates to work hard, seek challenges, and act and be treated like young professionals. In exchange, you will learn valuable skills and enjoy the opportunity to apply your skills to making a difference.
As a Communications Intern, you will:
Assist in overall communications support including building media lists, editorial calendars, contact databases and speaking calendars
Build and maintain a calendar of sustainability and communications-related events
Monitor and generate reports on media coverage and monthly agency activities
Be a green content creator.
Promote issues and share activities across multiple social platforms
Who are you?
We are looking for a savvy and creative thinker with strong communications and project management skills, and with a true motivation to use his or her talents to advance sustainable issues and causes. This is a great opportunity to get a ton of experience in a professional setting and prove your worth.
Internships are the #1 way to get a full-time position at the Blue Practice.
This is a demanding position and we expect self-starters, previous experience in agencies or demonstrated experience to manage multiple projects. This is a fast moving environment.
Candidates must have excellent research, verbal, written and digital skills. Enrolled students in communications programs seeking a working internship with prior internships or other related experience with environmental or sustainability issues, journalism, marketing, and/or public relations are encouraged to apply.
Following the in-person interview meeting, applicants will be evaluated by performing a writing test and small research project either developing a media list or a reporter briefing sheet.
This is a paid internship, rate dependent on experience and aptitude.
