The challenge
Autodesk's Platform Solutions and Emerging Business division wanted a more engaged talent base and a stronger internal network, one built on pride, participation, and a genuine sharing of ideas, with the ability to cross-pollinate across six other divisions of the company. The work was internal communications, but the goal was cultural: connect and inspire a global team, and support executive management in doing it.
The work
I developed and produced the "Inspired Speaker Series," a lecture series hosted at company headquarters and shared around the world by video. It brought in innovative and inspiring figures, including Tesla Motors founder Martin Eberhard, Dwell magazine publisher Michaela O'Connor Abrams, and Living Homes founder and green-building pioneer Steve Glenn.
I also led learning field trips, including a special invitation to shuttle select team members to the green-building expo West Coast Green for a keynote by Vice President Al Gore. Along the way, I produced the presentations, programs, and event materials that carried the effort forward inside the group.
The outcome
- A more engaged talent base and a stronger sense of internal pride and participation
- A repeatable, video-amplified format that carried ideas from headquarters to a global team
- New connections and cross-pollination across the division and six others in the company
