Client: NanoholdingsSector: Nanotechnology, Energy Innovation, University CommercializationProject: Public visibility through TED and thought leadership to catalyze investor and public interest

The challenge

Nanoholdings was pioneering breakthrough nanotechnology with the potential to solve global energy and water challenges. But the company's impact was largely hidden, tied up in scientific collaborations, early-stage IP, and university labs. They needed a way to make their story, and their mission, resonate far beyond academia. Something public, inspiring, and clear.

The strategy

Working with Nanoholdings founder Justin Hall-Tipping, we shaped a bold public narrative that could speak to both head and heart. We secured a spot on the TED stage, positioning Justin not as a technologist, but as a visionary guide into a new era of energy and material science.

Working closely with TED's editorial team, we helped shape and refine what became a widely viewed talk: a blend of personal insight, scientific potential, and global urgency. We also produced a follow-up video for the company's website to extend the story beyond the stage.

The outcome

  • The TED Talk drew over 1.2 million views on TED.com and 171,000+ on YouTube
  • Described by TED as a "moving talk," it continues to circulate as an inspiration in breakthrough innovation
  • Attracted $20M+ in follow-on investment, advancing the company's work across nanotech and university-driven R&D
  • Elevated Nanoholdings from an incubator to a public-facing innovation brand, with a story that captured imagination and investor interest alike
